My son is not permitted to injest added sugar due to digestion issues. This posed a problem since his favorite meal was breakfast and Quaker Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal. The other day I decided to sweeten regular oatmeal with dates as I had them leftover from Christmas baking. I boiled them for 5 minutes and blended them with a hand mixer, adding some of the boiled water. I then mixed them in with the oatmeal; the oatmeal was sweet and looked the right color- VOILA!- Works For Me!
