If you are like me and find the prices of baby food outrageous at up to $.80/128 ml, then why don’t we share tips on how to make the stuff…..I bought squash, sweet potatoes, and peaches today while I was grocery shopping. We are heading into winter so produce isn’t cheap itself. However, I made squash today for my infant and this is what I did:
1. I baked the squash at 400°F for 40 minutes
2. I scooped the squash into a measuring cup and blended it with a hand held blender
3. I added about 11/2 cups of pre-boiled water
4. I remixed it all with the blender
5. I spooned the squash mixture into each cube of an ice cube tray (16 cubes)
6. I covered them all with saran wrap and froze it for a day
7. I took the squash out of the tray and put it into a freezer bag
Each cube is 1 small infant serving. Tomorrow I will try the sweet potato and peaches the same way. Add your tips in the comment section below.
