I loved my pet rock- I don’t know why I had an attachment to a rock, but for some reason kids like this sort of thing. If you want a cheap, entertaining craft that your child can keep- this is the one! I took my son and his friend out for a walk to find their very own pet rock that we planned on painting to make them their own. Off we went in search of the PERFECT stone. It was an adventure that lasted close to an hour on a beautiful morning- too bad we walked with our heads down most of the way. Finally we found them (not together, that would have been way to easy, as rocks are hard to come by in the suburbs….). We brought them home, washed them and painted them. We added some eyes with the glue gun (my job) and added felt to the bottom so the moms wouldn’t be upset with the scratch marks on the furniture…Voila: PET ROCK!
