House Plants- The Frugal Air Purifier

by mom on March 5, 2009

My grandmother had a green thumb. In fact, I think her whole right arm was green. she loved plants and they loved her in return. She had plants galore, inside and outside. I remember her being able to name any plant that she saw, knowing their characteristics and healing powers. My mom loves plants, but only some love her back. My mom can also walk around her garden telling you what plant is what and whether they like sun or partial shade, etc. Now it’s my turn, NO CLUE about plants’ characteristics and whether they need to be watered weekly, monthly or hopefully never. Can’t get a cheaper and more attractive air purifier than this. I stumbled across this very interesting article at Sixwise.com:

Not only do complaints about headaches, stress, heart/circulation-symptoms and colds decrease when indoor plants are present, according to Dr. Leona Rogler in “The comprehensive office series,” but also richly decorating a room with plants can help to keep the air clean.
