Home Made Remedies- Frugal Solutions

by mom on January 14, 2009

This post is inspired by my mom who told me to put a bar of hand soap at the bottom of my bed to help with my aching back. WHAT? Yup, a bar of soap. “Soap in the bed remedy” is said to cure restless leg syndrome and leg cramping.

My dad has had a sore hip for months. Almost a year, in fact. He hurt it skiing. The other night he tried the “soap in the bed” remedy and went to bed. He woke up feeliing 30% better. He did it again the next night and felt 90% better the next day; so good in fact, that he went skiing again!  So, that is why I went to bed with a bar of soap. I tucked my top sheet in (which I dislike, but thought it would be worth it), unwrapped a bar of soap and placed it at my toes. This morning I awoke feeling pretty darn good. I will try it again tonight. If you suffer from aching muscles, give it a try. You have nothing to lose (you can use the bar of soap to wash your hands when you are done!!!). A bar of soap is said to hold its healing powers for about 6 months.
