A Healthy, Thrifty and Delicious Pasta Sauce Recipe

I decided to try the recipe that the experts are saying is the best pasta for your kids. This recipe cost me under $4.00 and will last at least 5 meals for us!

I steamed the following veggies until cooked but still somewhat firm:

1 head of broccoli

1 head of cauliflower

2 handfuls of baby carrots

2 handfuls of mushrooms

half an onion

1/2  a green pepper

I pureed them with diced tomatoes and 3 cloves of garlic and mixed them with 2 cans of pasta sauce. I then  let simmer on low for a good hour. Delicious pasta sauce with veggies that the kids don't know they are earting! Priceless.
